Appointed by Shropshire Council to support and act as part of client side team to bring forward the redevelopment of Smithfield Riverside, a key site within the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan.

Appointed by Shropshire Council to support and act as part of the client-side team, Invigour played a key role in advancing the redevelopment of Smithfield Riverside, a pivotal site within the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan. Invigour’s responsibilities included providing strategic advice and practical support to the Programme Manager and a core team of officers. Initially, we focused on developing the masterplan, preparing an outline business case, and securing Council approvals to proceed with designs up to planning for a first phase of redevelopment. demolition, site preparation, and the first phase of redevelopment.

Following these approvals, Invigour continued to support the Council, managing the procurement of a Development Management Partner and other critical resources and contributing to a successful application for a c£18 m Levelling Up grant. This enabled demolition, site preparation and an initial phase of public realm works to proceed.

Key benefits delivered included the successful completion of the masterplan and outline business case within a challenging timeframe, enabling the project to secure the necessary approvals to move forward.
